New sets of monumental inscriptions on sale via our shop

Chatham, St Mary

Monumental inscriptions for the former parish church of St Mary, Chatham. Recorded in 1946, 1959, 1986 and 1994-95.

After the opening of Chatham Cemetery in 1869 there were fewer burials in the church yard, the last burial took place in 1897. Many headstones have not survived so the record made in 1946 is particularly useful.

Also on sale are the monumental inscriptions for the Town Hall Gardens in Chatham, originally an extension to St Mary’s churchyard, and Chatham Cemetery both the Maidstone Road site and the later extension in Palmerston Road. A transcript of burials in Chatham Cemetery 1869-2020 is on sale via our shop
