About the Talk: There were Tithe Wars all over Enghland and Wales between 1881 - 1936. John will talk about how this conflict affected Kent and how Ashford was involved.
About the Speaker: Dr John Bulaitis author and historian published his book The Tithe Wars whilst at Canterbury Christ Church University, where he was a Senior Lecturer in Modern History. John has previously taught at other academic institutes including the Open University. He lives in Kent where he is very much involved with local Kent history being a trustee of Brook Rural Museum and Chairman of Shepherdswell with Coldred History Society. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of Kent Archaeological Society.
