About the Talk: Jim will talk about the Kent Coalfields with special reference to Betteshanger, Tilmanstone and the Deal Coalfields.
About the Speaker: Jim Davies was the last miner remaining at Betteshanger Colliery when the mine closed on Friday 25th August 1989. He has been involved with the Kent Miner’s Festival since 2009 and volunteers at the Kent Mining Museum giving talks to increase awareness of Kent’s mining history.
