About the Talk: Quirky and little-known facts emerge in this talk about local customs and the folk who lived in the East of Kent. Hoodening, Wassailing and the Blessing of the Sea are a few of the unusual but traditional events, many of which, still take place in the area today.
About the Speaker: Sue Duckworth is a professional Blue Badge Guide for the South/South East of England, Canterbury Cathedral and a Green Badge Guide for Canterbury City since 2012. She lives near Ashford in Kent and before becoming a Guide, she worked as a Librarian in Kent for almost 20 years. Sue still enjoys bringing her talks to life through stories.
