Discussion Topic - Family Mementos:
Each of us took along something which had previously belonged to an earlier family member and told us all about how they acquired it and its story.
The items were very varied and included a silver candlestick, apprentice made copper pots, a gold fob watch acquired after contact by an 'heir hunters’ company and helping with a house clearance, several hand crocheted and embroidered textile pieces, a serviceman’s kit-bag and maps from Canada and a Bible dating from the 1850s. The background stories were all very interesting and informative about the lives of ordinary people.
