A select group braved a weather warning and the elements to meet up for a guided walk and talk about Rochester, led by group member Peter.
He talked us through the history of the various bridges that have straddled the Medway. We heard about Eastgate House, Restoration House, the Vines, Rochester Castle and Cathedral to name but a few.
We learnt about various benefactors who were involved in the building and upkeep of parts of Rochester over the years and famous names who lived there.
An enjoyable afternoon was rounded off with a cuppa and cake at one of the many tea shops in the High Street.
