The speaker this month was Jenny Wall who gave a talk about the Curling family of Kingsdown. The main focus of the family covered by this talk was that of William who was a great benefactor for the village; he is credited with the building of a rather grand house which still stands though now divided into 4 homes. Subsequently he commissioned a school house and finally the Church which stands on what was land owned by William. Sadly he died a little before the building was consecrated.
