Deal & District Branch member's research into Betteshanger miners was on display at Kent Miners Festival at Betteshanger Community Park, Circular Road, Betteshanger, Deal, CT14 0LT on Bank Holiday Monday.
Although it was a very, very windy day Suzanne and Sharon managed to erect the Deal and District branch gazebo and to stop it from flying away.
The display of selected Betteshanger miners who died in pit accidents created a lot of interest. The ladies also offered advice where they could and where they couldn’t, as we had no internet access at this event, they directed people to the branch help desk.
