REPORT: Armistice +100 at Dover Castle

Sunday 11th November 2018
Deal & District Branch members

English Heritage marked one hundred years since the end of the First World War at Dover Castle on Sunday 11th November with a day of community commemorations.  As part of the Armistice Day commemorations, Kent Family History Society members held Family History Help Desks on the Gallery of the Wartime Tunnels, with a fantastic view across the channel.

Deal & District Branch members split themselves into two teams, one for the morning and one for the afternoon. The morning was unfortunately fairly quiet but things picked up in the afternoon and that team were kept busy until the end of the day.

Thanks and well done to Sharon Morris, Sylvia Lawson, Carol Kinnon, Jean Marsh, Doreen Collins, Sheila Harris, Margaret Wills and Suzanne Green. Photos of the day are in the Gallery below.
