After our Branch AGM there followed a talk by Peter Ewart entitled “In Want or Distress”.
With his usual infectious enthusiasm he explained, and demonstrated, the wealth of information available through searching the records of the Parish Overseer, confirming these as one of his favourite sources of research. Much of the information for the 17th &18th century that they contain will not be available anywhere else.
