A tale of a pregnant servant and the squire’s son. An afternoon browsing in a museum whilst on holiday in Australia found details of the ship the ‘Larkins’ in which her ancestors travelled to New South Wales. Although, ‘Larkins’ was a convict ship a land grant proved they arrived as free settlers.

A tablecloth with EM 1820 embroidered in the corner started Viv‘s research for a family connection. Older relatives suggestion of EM proved incorrect. Another candidate was found but is this the right person? Viv's quest is ongoing ....
‘Foxe’s Book of Martyrs’ by Ellen Mitchell
Ellen traced her links to her ancestor John Rogers whose trial was recorded in Foxe's book of Martyrs. He was burnt at the stake in 1555 for the then crime of translating the bible into English.
