Godinton House is about 2 miles from Ashford in the parish of Great Chart. The house dates back to the 14th century, when the Great Hall was first constructed. The greatest part of it is Jacobean with the most recent alterations in the earliest 20th century. Although, no longer occupied it is designed to be a comfortable house, rather than a museum.
