Lucky me! My ancestor was an agricultural labourer

Tuesday 25th September 2018, 19:30-21:30
Willesborough Windmill

Peter’s talk helped to dispel any despondency when you find agricultural labourers in your family tree. He suggests reading about the agriculture of the area and/or parish where your ancestors lived to get a feeling of their lives. Read parish records of the overseers, many people will have been named. Look at Tithe maps and apportionments, Parish boundary maps and notes of the Parish Surveyors. He also recommended several books that can be got from the library or are available second-hand.
