The Archives team at Kent FHS have just released an index for the Inscriptions in the Church and Churchyard in Newenden, Kent.
Surnames included in the list of inscriptions include ADES, AYERST, BARNES, BATES, BISHOP, BRIDGLAND, CARLISLE, CARTER, DENGATE, DUNK, EDWARDS, ELLIOTT, FRENCH, GOBLE, HEY, HICKMOTT, HOOKER, HUTCHINGS, HUXFORD, JAMES, LEVETT, MARCHANT, MERYON, PARSONS, PODGER, PUGHE, RUSSELL, SAWYER, SELMES, TREE, WENHAM, WILSON.
The original inscriptions list was compiled by Leland L Duncan in 1917 and is now held in the archives of the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IGHS) in Canterbury.
