St Martins Church is part of Canterbury's UNESCO world heritage site and recognised as the oldest church in the English speaking world; Christian worship having been held in this church continuously since at least 580AD.

A survey of surviving headstones, both in the churchyard and inside the building, was one of the early projects undertaken by members of the Kent Family History Society. Part 1 was published in 1984 on microfiche and part 2 in 1995.The download [price £4] includes an index to both publications, which covers almost 2,000 names, a plan of the churchyard and copies of the original publications.
